Ann Arbor Newborn Photographer
Why is it that anything teeny newborn sized is 100x cuter?? This little knit romper is so cozy & adorable - I am just loving this super sweet heart prop, too!
Newborn sessions take place in my natural light home studio located in Sylvania, Ohio. As part of your session, all clients have access to my large collection of props & accessories. All you have to do is show up and I can take care of the rest!
Newborn sessions are done when baby is 5-21 days old - this is when they are still in that sweet, sleepy, milk drunk phase. It goes by in the blink of an eye! I am only able to accept a limited number of due dates each month, therefore, I recommend booking your session while still in the 2nd trimester. That said, newborns can be unpredictable in their arrivals, so I do get gaps in my schedule. If you’re already in your 3rd trimester or your baby is already here, you can definitely still reach out to see if I can fit you in!
Upon booking, you will be sent a prep that guide that is filled with absolutely everything you need to know to help plan for your session. What to expect, what to bring, wardrobe suggestions, the studio address, and other important info is all covered in the prep guide! You will also be sent a questionnaire to complete. The questionnaire will ask about what colors you would like see in the photos, any prop requests, and more! I love stylizing sessions! I have had a lot of clients say they aren’t the most creative or really know what colors to choose, so they just leave it all up to me and that is just fine! I am happy to choose everything for you and put together some adorable setups.
When you arrive for your newborn session, everything will be setup and ready to go for photos. If we are doing any family poses, we will start with those first. I will have the studio heated up quite warm & toasty, so it’s best to get those family photos done while everyone is still looking their best. Once family poses are completed, parents can just relax at that point and baby will be star of the show for the rest of the session!
I will typically begin with all of prop poses first (examples of prop poses are baby in a bucket, bowl, crate, bed, basket, etc). Once props are completed, I will do some wrapped/swaddled poses and then unwrap baby for more adorable poses on my fabric backdrops. I have a whole rainbow of color options available!
